I’ve planned this section for a while. A few FAQ‘s that we usually get while playing. And since I am not always on the server, I thought this would be a good way of answering a few of the most asked ones.
Stay prepared, and plan ahead.
It’s really important to add your character points before starting the actual game. Or else, it will be harder to achieve progress – and thereby to survive. There are a whole section about how to build your character online. I didn’t read any of them, but went with my gut feeling. The most important thing is to actually spend the character points.
I will recommend that new players take the in-game tutorial (found in your tab-menu/inventory). This will give you some basic tools and a basic understanding of how stuff works in Scum.
Remember that the biggest concentration of zombies are near buildings and installations. This is worth repeating, it seems. We also have a player-modifier which increases the number of zombies if more players are at the same area.
Food and water can be found anywhere and everywhere (almost). There are fruits and vegetables, animals to hunt and fishes to catch. Learn these skills. They are more valuable than just shooting and looting.

Be extra vigilant when entering bunkers or sites with Sentries. These places also have a rather dense population of zombies. Closing doors behind you is a good strategy, so that you don’t get enemies on all sides.
The Nuclear plant up in C0 (Charlie Zero) is a very hostile environment. Radiation sickness befalls anyone that comes near that place without a HazMat suit. Even a radiation presence (item contamination) will lead to death unless decontaminated, treated and cured. This is particularly nasty, as the radiation sickness accelerate when first protracted. Any item that has been in that site, or passed through, must be considered lethal to carry. Take extra precautions. Think ahead.
Remember that fuel costs money now, after the latest patch.
You can not fill fuel if you don’t carry your bank card in your inventory.
